The most recent owner purchased it in the early 2000s for his collection, where the vehicles are stored in the climate-controlled showroom with a staff technician to care for the vehicle in the collection daily. Except for the paint, in factory-original condition and with interesting factory options, this El Camino received a high-quality cosmetic refinish and a period-correct color change from Green Mist to Black Cherry in the nineties. All parts needed to provide access and avoid masking were removed from the vehicle to ensure the best possible quality paint job closest to the factory finish. It is an exceptional example that retained the patina of the original vehicle while offering the reliability of the functional everyday driver if desired.
